The company confirmed that Ntuli intends to take a career break before deciding on his next professional move. His departure brings to a close a career spanning approximately 25 years in the technology industry, with experience in enterprise infrastructure, public sector business, sales leadership and cloud services.

Ntuli’s career began at Microsoft and Unisys Africa before he joined HP in 2009. During his initial tenure with the business, he held several leadership positions, including public sector lead, global accounts director and business unit and sales manager for HP’s server portfolio.

In 2015, he moved to Dimension Data’s Middle East and Africa operations, where he took on public sector responsibilities before advancing to a regional sales executive role.

He subsequently returned to HPE, taking up an international position in the UK overseeing go-to-market strategy for its GreenLake portfolio across the UK, Ireland, the Middle East and South Africa. He later served as senior director of cloud services.

Ntuli returned to South Africa in November 2023 to lead HPE’s local business as managing director and board member.

Reflecting on his career, Ntuli acknowledged the colleagues, customers, business partners and mentors who supported his professional development. He also credited HPE with providing an important opportunity to advance into executive leadership.

His departure follows a period of extensive experience across enterprise technology and regional markets, including roles spanning public sector engagement, commercial leadership and cloud-based services.

Alkhallafi to oversee SA operations

HPE has appointed Ahmad Alkhallafi, its managing director for Emirates and Africa, to assume interim responsibility for the South African business from 1 November 2026.

The arrangement will provide leadership continuity following Ntuli’s exit. No permanent successor has been announced.

Ntuli plans to use the coming period to recharge and consider his future direction. Details of his next career move have not yet been made public.
