Check Point launches Ghana's First Secure Academy with Kingrich Foundation to build local cyber Security Talent

Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a pioneer and global leader of cyber security solutions, today announced the launch of Ghana's first Check Point SecureAcademy in partnership with the Kingrich Foundation.The initiative is designed to help close Ghana's critical cyber skills gap and support the country's secure digital and AI transformation.

Check Point SecureAcademy is delivered through Check Point Services and offered in more than 290 academic institutions across 80+ countries. In Africa, the programme has already trained more than 500 students through 20 active partnerships. The programme in Ghana is designed to provide world-class, prevention-first cyber security training and certifications that meet both local and global workforce demands.

This initiative supports Ghana's National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy and the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project, which aim to scale the country's digital economy, expand connectivity, and modernise public-sector infrastructure. Ghana's startup and innovation ecosystem is gaining momentum, anchored by hubs in Accra and Kumasi and a rapidly maturing financial services and telco sector.

Ghana has an estimated 4,500 cyber security professionals working across the public and private sectors, despite the country's estimated GH¢350 million (+-USD 30,5 million) annual investment in cyber security.

Digital penetration in Ghana now impacts the lives of 68% of its people. As Ghanaian organisations expand their use of cloud services, online platforms, and AI-driven applications, the country's attack surface is growing in parallel — and attackers are exploiting it at machine speed.

According to Ghana's Cyber Security Authority (CSA), 4,604 confirmed cyber incidents were logged in 2025 alone, while an additional 18,759 cases required direct guidance from CSA experts.

The trend reflects a broader regional reality. According to Check Point's Global Threat Intelligence Report, Africa continues to experience among the world's highest average number of weekly cyber attacks per organization, with AI now compressing the window between vulnerability disclosure and exploitation. In this environment, detection alone is no longer enough — prevention must be the default operating model, and the workforce must be trained for it.

Through the SecureAcademy programme, Check Point provides partner institutions with instructor training, structured corporate courseware built on the Check Point Infinity Platform, and access to professional certification pathways — including industry-recognised credentials such as the Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) and Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) — at heavily subsidised rates, backed by a grant valued at up to USD 60,000 per institution annually.

The program, in collaboration with the Kingrich Foundation, will be delivered as a structured youth training initiative focused on foundational cyber security knowledge, practical lab work and guided real-world prevention-first simulations informed by Check Point's global threat intelligence.
